We got off to a good start with

James McFadden was on-target for Scotland as they demolished the Faroe Islands 6-0 in their opening Euro 2008 qualifier.Former Blues Boss Walter Smith named McFadden, Gary Naysmith and David Weir in his squad for the game and the entire contingent started at Celtic Park.McFadden scored the Scots' second goal of the day when the ball broke to him in the 10th minute and he curled a low shot into the corner of the net from the edge of the area.Naysmith put in another accomplished display, a week after his excellent performance against Tottenham Hotspur whilst Weir was named captain for  Buy Fifa 16 PS4 Coins  the game.

Weir said afterwards: We got off to a good start with a couple of early goals. We hoped we could go on from there and we did.You have to give the players a lot of credit, the strikers especially for taking their chances. You could see the lads were up for it but it is goals which win games. The fact we got the first one early took the pressure off us and we could enjoy it a little bit.'Weir was involved for Scotland the last time they faced the Faroes in their opening game of their last European Championship qualifying campaign  an embarrassing 2-2 draw in Toftir.

Following that result the Everton skipper was openly criticised by the then manager Berti Vogts and he went into a self-imposed international exile.Weir was soon back in the Scotland fold after Smith took charge and he now wants to forget about that small episode of his international career and focus on the job of helping his country to qualify for Austria and Switzerland. He added: It has been talked about a bit too much. We are a nation which likes to look on the dark side and there are a lot of good things happening with Cheap Fifa 16 XBOX One Coins  the team.Hopefully today will be the start of a really good campaign for us.
